Overview
Join a team dedicated to serving the community with Cobb EMC as a Member Care Representative I. This role starts with 90 days of in-office training followed by a schedule allowing you to work remotely four days per week and collaborate onsite once a week. Operating Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the position is perfect for individuals who relish solving problems, assisting customers, and offering exceptional service in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support members with applying for new electric service, service reconnections, and transfers.
- Respond to inquiries regarding billing, payments, and general account concerns.
- Address and resolve member issues promptly, aiming for first-call resolution.
- Process service orders while ensuring account information accuracy.
- Clearly explain rate options and utility-related services to customers.
- Provide assistance during power outages and busy periods when required.
- Collaborate effectively to deliver superior service and support to the community.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in customer service within a call center setting.
- Strong listening, verbal, and written communication abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with members and coworkers.
- Capable of conducting thorough member interviews and proficiently resolving queries.
- Organized with good planning skills, able to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Comfortable working both independently and within a team.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and personal computing.
- Basic understanding of utility rates.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in the utility sector.
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous.
