Quality Manager - Bridges

Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Quality Manager with extensive expertise in site operations and consultancy, responsible for steering quality assurance across diverse projects. The position demands ensuring adherence to relevant regulations, advancing continuous quality improvements, and supporting exceptional project execution on-site and in client interactions.

Quality Leadership & IMS

• Lead deployment and upkeep of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) in road and highway initiatives.
• Guarantee conformance with ISO 9001, contract requirements, employer expectations, and authorities’ standards.
• Serve as the official Quality Management Representative at site level.

Site Quality Management – Roads

• Supervise QA/QC processes covering earthworks, subgrade, embankments, asphalt, flexible and rigid pavements.
• Oversee drainage, utilities, road corridors, road furniture, signage, and traffic management setups.
• Ensure approved implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Work Procedures.
• Monitor material approvals, laboratory testings, and site evaluations aligned with project and authority mandates.

Audits, Compliance, & Improvement

• Coordinate and conduct internal audits, vendor assessments, and support external, client, or authority-led audits.
• Manage non-conformance, conduct root cause analyses (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Maintain oversight on quality KPIs, derive trends, document lessons learned, and bolster continuous improvement efforts.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

• Collaborate closely with project stakeholders including managers, engineers, contractors, and site teams.
• Act as the main quality liaison with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and official regulatory bodies (e.g., RTA, ADM, DMT, MoEI).
• Provide expert quality consultancy and advisory services related to road project quality systems and compliances.

Training & Capability Building

• Deliver training and mentoring on quality standards, road construction best practices, and quality tools like RCA, FMEA, and Six Sigma frameworks.
• Champion a proactive and quality-focused culture among project teams and contractors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is preferred.
• Over 20 years’ experience managing quality in bridge projects, with proven leadership in site-level quality operations on large-scale road or transportation projects.
• Background in consultancy and client-facing roles within engineering consultancy organizations preferred.
• Familiarity with UAE or regional road authority standards is advantageous.

Technical and Professional Skills

• Expertise in Quality Management Systems (QMS/IMS) and ISO standards for construction quality.
• Comprehensive knowledge of road and highway construction processes.
• Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Proficiency with quality tools such as RCA, FMEA, auditing techniques, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to thrive in dynamic, multidisciplinary, site-based environments.
