Where you'll work

Job description

Opportunity Overview

An established, solutions-focused organisation is seeking a Business Development Manager to help win new customers and support growth in the New Zealand market. This is a complete new-business sales role where you will prospect, meet clients, present offerings, negotiate terms, and close deals while steadily building a healthy pipeline.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the end-to-end new business sales process from first contact through to close.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities across the wider construction ecosystem, including suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and service providers.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and solution presentations to different stakeholder groups.
  • Keep pipeline activity well organised and up to date in CRM tools, with HubSpot experience considered an advantage.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as account management, research, and sales to create a smooth customer experience.
  • Attend occasional industry events and meetings, with some travel potentially required.

What You’ll Bring

  • Around 3 or more years of experience in new business development or solution sales, with the ability to independently manage the full sales process.
  • A strong consultative selling style, including needs discovery, tailoring value propositions, and working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage objections, negotiate effectively, and handle commercial discussions in a target-focused environment.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems for pipeline tracking and reporting; HubSpot knowledge is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, along with a motivated, curious, and coachable attitude.
  • Experience in construction, SaaS, advertising, recruitment, or training sales would be useful, though it is not required.

What’s on Offer

  • The chance to join a well-established, market-leading business with an international presence.
  • A people-first environment that combines high performance with care for wellbeing and team connection.
  • A close-knit, social, and supportive team in New Zealand.
  • Wellbeing and culture-focused benefits, including quarterly mental health days, regular social activities, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Real opportunity for career growth through coaching, learning, and development in a fast-moving growth setting.
