Job Description

The Executive - Airside Operations plays a vital role in coordinating and supporting all airside activities to ensure safe and efficient airport operations. This position is essential for managing aircraft movements, maintaining clear communication with pilots and ground crews, and strictly adhering to all safety regulations. The role involves overseeing ground support equipment, monitoring real-time airside activities, facilitating the timely arrival and departure of aircraft, and orchestrating responses to any emergencies that may arise.

Responsibilities

• Direct aircraft movements to and from gates, taxiways, and runways, ensuring strict adherence to air traffic control directives.
• Monitor the real-time positions of aircraft, maintain effective communication channels with pilots and ground personnel, and swiftly resolve any operational issues to boost efficiency.
• Oversee the operational readiness and maintenance schedules for all ground support equipment (GSE), including tugs, baggage carts, and refuelling vehicles, to prevent operational delays.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of airside operations, implement robust safety protocols, and deliver comprehensive safety training to staff.
• Proactively identify potential hazards in airside activities and implement immediate corrective actions to maintain a secure operational environment.
• Develop, implement, and regularly drill emergency response plans, ensuring seamless communication with all relevant emergency services.
• Coordinate routine inspections and necessary repairs for runways and taxiways, ensuring the prompt removal of debris or any obstructions to maintain operational safety.
• Manage and monitor the movement of vehicles and personnel within the airside area to guarantee safe and efficient operations, minimizing collision risks and ensuring smooth traffic flow.

Internal: Duty Manager - Airside Operations, Air Traffic Control (ATC), Ground Handling Teams, Terminal Operations Team, Facilities Team, Airport Security, Maintenance and Engineering Department, Customer Service Teams, IT Department, Safety and Compliance Department, Marketing and Communications Department.

External: Airlines, Regulatory Authorities (e.g., FAA, ICAO), Ground Handling Service Providers, ATC, Local Emergency Services, Passengers, Cargo Operators, Fuel Suppliers, Vendors and Contractors.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

A Bachelor's degree in aviation management, airport operations, or a closely related discipline is required.

Certifications

• Airport Operations Management Certification
• Ground Handling Certification

Work Experience

A minimum of 3 to 4 years of professional experience in airport operations or ground handling is necessary.
