Role overview

Amazon is seeking a seasoned Real Estate Manager to support property acquisition activities across its India network. The role is based in Lucknow and involves frequent travel. You will report to the Senior Manager - Real Estate and contribute directly to the expansion of Amazon’s Dark Store network for its Quick Commerce launch.

This position owns the real estate program end to end for a key business rollout. It includes partnering with local leadership to define requirements, handling lease negotiations covering both commercial and legal terms, carrying out site inspections, preparing comparative financial analysis for lease decisions, and driving project execution to ensure timely outcomes. The core goal is to secure suitable and cost-efficient storage or operational space in difficult market conditions and within tight budgets and deadlines.

What you'll do

  • Support the India team in executing the broader strategy for Amazon’s warehouse and storage space needs.
  • Build and manage a network of brokers and consultants to deliver site and building requirements across multiple formats.
  • Develop a solid understanding of real estate regulatory requirements in the assigned region.
  • Keep regular coordination with business stakeholders, including local and central Finance, IT, Legal, Operations, Facilities, and Engineering representatives.
  • Handle landlord engagement, negotiations, and contractor coordination, including escalation of issues beyond day-to-day activity.
  • Manage alteration activities and work toward lowering fixed building-related costs.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Reliability Program Manager or in a similar role.
  • A bachelor’s degree, or at least 2 years of Amazon experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Comfortable using computers and common office tools such as MS Excel, Word, and Office applications.
  • At least 5 years of experience in team management, budgeting, supplier management, problem solving, and client or customer relations is preferred.
  • Experience in preventive maintenance, industrial electrical systems, industrial controls, and industrial electronics and robotics is preferred.
