Job description
Role Summary
This role involves the execution and supervision of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system installation and testing at project sites. The primary goal is to ensure all HVAC activities align with approved designs, technical specifications, quality benchmarks, and project timelines. This position requires close coordination with internal project teams and external subcontractors to guarantee safety and performance standards are met throughout the project duration.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret HVAC blueprints and specifications, collaborating with design and execution teams to prevent installation conflicts.
- Oversee subcontractor operations, ensuring the timely availability of necessary materials, tools, and personnel to maintain continuous site work.
- Track daily progress of execution and verify the quality of equipment installation and duct fabrication.
- Assist in the testing and commissioning phases of HVAC systems, including air balancing, water balancing, and functional performance checks.
- Manage and maintain project documentation, such as installation checklists, test reports, and material consumption records.

- Project & Execution Teams: For work sequencing and coordination.
- Planning, QA/QC & Safety Teams: For schedule adherence, compliance checks, and inspections.
- Design & Engineering Teams: For resolving technical queries and ensuring implementation consistency.

- Clients, Consultants & PMCs: For inspections, obtaining approvals, and conducting technical reviews.

Knowledge & Experience
Qualifications
- Minimum educational attainment: ITI, Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a specialized HVAC field.
- Language proficiency: Fluency in English is required; a working knowledge of the local regional language is advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 10 years of professional experience.
- Relevant experience includes the on-site execution of HVAC systems for industrial projects, covering equipment installation, ductwork, commissioning, and adherence to technical standards.
Technical & Leadership Skills
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in HVAC equipment installation, ducting and piping layout design, air and water balancing, and commissioning of chillers and AHUs.
- Knowledge of insulation techniques.
- Familiarity with HVAC codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC).
- Competence in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.
- Understanding of testing and commissioning procedures, quality control, and safety protocols.
- Expertise in HVAC system installation, reconciliation processes, and resource planning.
