Job description

Role Overview

This position is for a Pharmacy Technician to support patient-focused care in a community pharmacy setting in Kent, England. The role involves advising patients, helping to lead and coach the pharmacy team, and using technical expertise to support the safe supply of medicines.

What You Will Do

  • Give clear, personalised guidance to patients on medicines, products, and available support such as Macmillan Cancer Support.
  • Deliver a range of pharmacy services based on the needs of the store.
  • Build strong working relationships with the pharmacy team by coaching, motivating, and supporting them to maintain high standards of care.
  • Help manage patient triage and issue prescription handouts.
  • Make sound legal, safe, and ethical decisions in day-to-day pharmacy work.
  • Handle operational duties such as stock replenishment, workload planning, order completion, and the receipt and handling of controlled medicines while prioritising patient safety.
  • If you do not already hold an accuracy-checking qualification, you must complete Boots' 6-week Accuracy Checking Programme.

What You Need

  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC, along with willingness to complete the 6-week training programme to qualify for prescription checking.
  • Interest in coaching and helping to lead a dispensary team.
  • Strong communication and organisational ability.
  • Commitment to improving services for teams, customers, and patients.
  • Focus on delivering excellent patient care and service.
  • Comfort using pharmacy systems and technology.
  • Prior experience with accuracy checking is helpful but not required, as training will be provided.
