Job description
Role overview
Amazon is looking for a Safety Technician to help protect the health and wellbeing of people at work. This position is a strong entry point into workplace safety and offers the chance to grow within a global organisation. You will work alongside safety specialists and be based at a site where you can observe operations closely and make a visible impact every day.
This position requires flexibility to work night shifts.
What you will do
- Complete risk assessments and carry out site audits.
- Check that day-to-day activities follow Amazon’s safety rules and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain safety metric reports for colleagues and stakeholders.
- Partner with Operations and other business teams on safety tasks and process guidance.
- Help introduce and implement new safety controls and improvements.
Working style
You will be stationed on one of Amazon’s sites, allowing you to monitor operations directly, answer questions from colleagues during their shifts, and spot risks before they turn into problems. A large part of the role involves understanding how equipment and processes are used so you can help identify the safest way to work.
In addition to routine daily and weekly duties, you will support the Operations team with safety-related tasks as needed. You will also gather important data, share insights across teams, and help ensure safety remains a priority throughout the business.
About the team

The WHS function includes roles ranging from Health and Safety Technicians to Programme Managers. Team members contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of high standards for safety and wellbeing through a variety of projects, including equipment checks, process reviews, and assessments of buildings and equipment design.
Requirements
- A Health and Safety NVQ Level 3 qualification or a NEBOSH National General Certificate, or an equivalent certification.
- Advanced English ability at CEFR level B2/C1.
- Experience preparing metrics reports, interpreting data to identify issues, and using analysis to explain findings.
Preferred experience
- Ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders, both in writing and through presentations.
- Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
