About the Unit

The role is based at Copper Tube Manufacturing - IGT - Baroda (Waghodia). This unit is planned as India’s first copper tube manufacturing facility and will focus on downstream copper products such as copper tubes, copper rods, copper alloy rods, copper wires, and copper alloy wires. The project is intended to strengthen the local manufacturing ecosystem and improve cost competitiveness for India’s AC manufacturing value chain.

Role Summary

The position is for Jr Engineer / Asst Engineer / Deputy Engineer - Operation & Maintenance and Technical Service. The selected candidate will support machine operation, production monitoring, maintenance, quality control, and safety practices in a copper tube manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

The job involves running plant equipment used in copper tube production, watching process performance, supporting quality checks, carrying out preventive and minor corrective maintenance, and helping resolve equipment issues quickly to reduce downtime. The role also requires keeping production records, coordinating with other teams, and contributing to process improvements.

Qualification and Industry Background

Candidates should have a Diploma in Metallurgy or Mechanical. Preference is given to applicants with exposure to metals, manufacturing, forging, foundry, rolling, or melting environments.

Job Requirements

• Operate production machinery such as casting, rolling, drawing, grooving, level winding, annealing, and finishing equipment.
• Track production performance, identify irregularities, and help ensure daily output targets are achieved.
• Monitor machine-related OEE and work to reduce unplanned stoppages.
• Carry out routine upkeep activities including lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs.
• Ensure critical spares are available so equipment can run without interruption.
• Investigate mechanical faults and apply corrective measures to restore equipment function.
• Follow site safety rules, use protective gear, and comply with lockout/tagout/try-out procedures during maintenance work.
• Maintain accurate logs for production, maintenance, and quality inspection activities.
• Work closely with production, supervision, and maintenance teams to close issues efficiently.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by sharing ideas and adopting better operating practices.
