Digital Lead

About the Role

A client seeks a Digital Lead to oversee a cross-functional digital team, manage transition service agreements, set governance frameworks, and align digital strategies with board and external stakeholders. This contract position is based in Wellington and extends through December 2026, with the potential for extension.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the digital workstream, steering all initiatives up to the official launch of the new entity.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary digital team.
• Supervise transition agreements and maintain relations with the parent organization and digital units.
• Plan and execute transition-out schedules to ensure the entity's operational independence.
• Establish and implement clear digital governance frameworks.
• Provide strategic updates and manage expectations for the Board of Directors and key executive stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated expertise as a Programme Lead or Manager in complex environments.
• Capability to lead technical delivery teams effectively.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail coupled with a pragmatic, delivery-oriented approach.
• Solid understanding of digital systems within the public sector.
• Experience working with central government agencies or Crown entities is an advantage.

Additional Information
