Job Summary

The role of Janitor involves carrying out a wide range of cleaning and preservation duties within assigned areas of specific buildings or multiple client locations. Tasks vary depending on client requirements, so flexibility in performing duties is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming all types of surfaces.
• Adhere to protocols for chemical cleaners and equipment usage to avoid damage to floors and fixtures.
• Keep restrooms, meeting spaces, hallways, and entrance zones clean and well-maintained.
• Dispose of trash correctly, including use of compactors when applicable.
• Clean windows, glass dividers, and mirrors using suitable cleaning products and tools.
• Perform spot cleaning on carpets and assist with carpet extractions and shampooing.
• Restock paper goods and sanitary items as necessary.
• Comply with established housekeeping schedules.
• Occasionally operate heavy cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers.
• Complete any other duties assigned within the scope of work or customer needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent educational credential, or at least six months of janitorial experience.
• Training will be provided on the job.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions effectively.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial roles.
• Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and custodial standards.
• Familiarity with floor care methods such as buffing and waxing.
• Experience working in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance.

Compensation and Schedule

Hourly rate is $12. Work hours are Monday through Sunday, 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
