Job Overview

They seek a SQL Developer located in Germany to implement and support data-driven reporting solutions across various client platforms. The position blends technical SQL expertise with business intelligence and effective communication, involving direct collaboration with stakeholders to develop and maintain robust SQL-based systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients, managers, and stakeholders to clarify reporting and business requirements.
• Transform business needs into efficient SQL queries and reporting solutions.
• Remotely connect to client environments to install, configure, maintain, and support reporting software.
• Analyze client systems to locate and evaluate relevant data sources across multiple platforms.
• Extract, interpret, and analyze data from databases and business applications.
• Assess and optimize existing database architectures, relationships, and data flows to aid project implementations.
• Create and manage SQL database objects such as views, stored procedures, functions, and tables.
• Implement fixes, updates, and performance tuning within SQL Server environments.
• Troubleshoot database, connectivity, and network-related issues.
• Operate within Windows Server settings and collaborate with IT teams at client sites as needed.
• Provide training and guidance to ensure successful software adoption among users.
• Maintain responsibility for post-implementation support and oversee projects from initiation to completion.

Candidate Requirements

• Extensive experience using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Proficient in advanced SQL querying including joins, aggregations, subqueries, and diagnosing query issues.
• Expertise in developing and maintaining SQL views, stored procedures, functions, and other database components.
• Strong grasp of relational database design and data structuring principles.
• Experience working with Windows Server environments.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts such as permissions, ports, firewalls, and DNS.
• Comfortable with remote access and support of client infrastructure.
• Analytical mindset to resolve complex technical challenges and deliver practical solutions.
• Excellent communication, with the ability to liaise effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
• Highly self-driven, organized, detail-conscious, and methodical, especially when troubleshooting.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize workload, and take ownership of assignments.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Familiarity with bookkeeping and financial structures, such as nominal ledger, trial balance, and sales/purchase ledgers.
• Experience with financial accounting systems or ERP platforms.
• Knowledge of deploying or supporting applications within IIS.
• An understanding of APIs, application integrations, and JSON environments.
• Experience with other SQL dialects like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Exposure to various database management systems beyond SQL Server.
• Basic knowledge of C# programming.
