Job description
Overview
Wood is hiring an Information Management Lead for its Doha, Qatar team. This is a long-term assignment in Qatar, supporting information management across contractor and company interfaces.
The role sits within projects in both brownfield and greenfield settings, with a strong focus on onshore and offshore oil and gas work.
Role purpose
In this position, you will own the delivery of company information management expectations and act as the key interface for all IT and information management topics between the contractor’s IT/IM function and the company’s IM/IT focal point.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the main contact for all contractor information management matters.
- Ensure company needs for data, documents, and models are clearly understood and that contractor systems and workflows generate the required outputs in line with contract obligations.
- Set up and maintain contractor information systems used to manage data, documents, and models.
- Work closely with contractor engineering, design, and drafting teams to support production processes and deliverables.
- Take overall ownership of project progress reporting and engineering/design status reporting.
- Make sure information is handed over to the company environment smoothly and completely, including regular or milestone-based transmittals of documents and drawings.
Experience and skills
- A university degree in a relevant engineering field such as mechanical, welding, materials, or process engineering.
- At least 10 years of industry experience in industrial or process engineering project delivery, ideally within oil and gas or the wider energy sector.
- Solid knowledge of project life cycles, including how information, documents, data, and models move through each stage and what is required at handover points.
- Strong project management capability; CAPM, PMP, or PrMP credentials are preferred, or equivalent training and extensive hands-on experience.
- High level of IT literacy, including Windows and MS Office, plus enterprise document management and data warehousing tools.
- Familiarity with engineering and design systems used in process, instrumentation, electrical, piping, civil, and 3D/CAD design work.
